American Currency Design: A project during Professor Key’s ARTT498 Advanced Graphic Design course at UMDCP.

Official Brief:Design a new set of bank notes for the United States of America. You will submit seven different notes—$1, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $1000—and a poster advertising your new currency design. Take inspiration from local landmarks, buildings, and people. The designs need to be modern and appeal to a wide range of different people. They need to be recognizable and personal.

Target Audience: The Treasury of the United States of America.

Theme: Various colored vertical bank notes with a set width of 2.6 inches and different heights ranging from 4.5 inches to 7.5 inches for more effective and faster counting, and featuring underrepresented women in American history.

Design Sizes: 2.6×4.5 inches ($1), 2.6×5 inches ($5), 2.6×5.5 inches ($10), 2.6×6 inches ($20), 2.6×6.5 inches ($50), 2.6×7 inches ($100), 2.6×7.5 inches ($1000), and 9.3×6.8 inches (poster).
